I write about Iron Maiden for school assignments. Classic education showcased in British Heavy Metal. Here’s a teen’s top 5 of Iron Maiden:

1. Die with Your Boots On
My favorite because of its driving energy and the guitar harmonies that give the song so much character. I love how the guitars weave together, making the melodies feel powerful while keeping that defiant, determined attitude.
2. The Prisoner
I love the rebellious spirit of this song, especially its emphasis on freedom and refusing to be controlled. The punchy riffs and huge chorus give it an energy that makes me want to sing along every time.
3. Genghis Khan
The instrumental format lets the guitars and drums do all the talking. I love how the changes in pace and galloping rhythms give it a restless intensity without needing any vocals.
4. Fear of the Dark
This was one of my first metal songs, so it holds a special place for me. The suspenseful opening, soaring melodies, and huge chorus make it feel epic, and it still gives me that same excitement that drew me into metal.
5. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
I love how it tells a complete story through both the lyrics and the music. The eerie middle section and powerful return make its length feel earned, turning the song into a journey through dread, guilt, and redemption.
Honorable Mention: The Trooper
Those guitar riffs.
