Black Sabbath is one of my earliest influences. I played Paranoid at my Middle School talent show. The guitar and vocals are wild. Here’s my top 5:

1. Into the Void
My favorite because the guitar paired with the bass sounds absolutely massive. The faster section driving up the energy, contrasting with the rest being slow; and the overall dark atmosphere represent what I love about heavy metal music.
2. Symptom of the Universe
The aggressive, almost thrashy main riff gives this song an intensity that puts it near the top for me. I also love how it shifts into a softer, acoustic section. It adds a completely different mood without feeling out of place.
3. Paranoid
It’s short, catchy, and never wastes a second. The driving guitar and restless vocals make it a song I can keep coming back to, regardless of how many times I’ve heard it. Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne shaped my love for rock music.
4. Die Young
Dio’s powerful vocals and the dramatic build make this one stand out. It has an urgency and emotion that make it feel huge, especially when the heavier sections kick in.
5. N.I.B.
The opening bass solo immediately pulls me in, and the main riff has such a satisfying groove. I love the combination of heaviness and melody, with Ozzy’s vocals giving it that unmistakable Sabbath character.
